OVERVIEW
The Quality Manager is responsible for implementing, improving, and executing the Quality Management Systems (QMS) and project-specific quality program requirements. They ensure that design and construction activities are planned and carried out in accordance with the company's established policies, procedures, systems, and contract requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple projects, ensuring quality management duties such as the quality of works, material management, documentation, and project close-out to guarantee safe, efficient, effective, and profitable project execution.
- Coaches, mentors, and trains project staff in quality management principles, procedures, and project-specific requirements. Acts as a mentor and coach to Quality staff to help advance their careers at and improve retention.
- Leads and manages quality processes, including work planning, pre-activity meetings, material management, Quality Incident Reports, lesson sharing, and follow-up inspections.
- Establishes, monitors, and reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and QIRs for project teams to ensure continuous improvement. Analyzes project KPIs, evaluates trends, and provides improvement strategies.
- Regularly audits project quality programs for continuous improvement using Project QC Evaluation and other auditing tools. Provides feedback to Operations and Quality Management regarding major QIRs, project team relationships, owner/client perceptions, and recurring quality management non-conformances.
- Directs inspection, testing, and documentation of the works. Coordinates scheduling of inspection and testing with operations, consultants, material laboratories, and Clients.
- Creates and implements project-specific inspection and test plans, quality control plans, and other necessary procedures. Additionally, supports material specification review, such as concrete mix design, thermal control, and other specialized quality elements.
- Responsible for risk management strategies to improve project profitability by reducing risk and enhancing efficiency through process management and risk mitigation.
- Maintains relationships with owners, Clients, subcontractors, design partners, and stakeholders to support project partnering and issue resolution.
- Supports Site Safety to ensure projects are completed following established safety procedures, requirements, and goals.
- Monitors project quality costs, including resources, while working to better align with as-bid budgets. Provides feedback to optimize project billing returns, risk reporting, and testing accuracy, while protecting the company from claim exposure. Monitors and reports rework costs through the QIR system.
- QUALIFICATIONSA Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 6 years of experience as a QC Manager. OR 10+ years of experience as a QC Manager without a degree
- Industry certifications in testing and inspection are preferred
- Willingness to travel as necessary
- Strong communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and effective time management and organizational skills are essential.
- Familiarity with standards, specifications, and publications relevant to job duties is required.
